$22 per day for parking in Boston. Does this sound reasonable or is it too much? I will have a rental car (no way around it) but will park for the duration of my stay. Looking for cheap place just to park it.

Unfortunately that is a good price for Boston depending on the location. Post Office Square is $35 per day.

Most hotels in Boston are charging $23.00 daily for self-parking.

Depending on your schedule you could park at the Cambridge Side Galleria grab something to eat at Cheesecake factory.They validate so you pay $5.00 or something around that. Leave your car there walk across the street to the green line t (Lechmere stop).Train is the best way to get around in the city.Or off Tremont street go to Parker Street and park on the street for free. The orange line is a 2 minute walk (Roxbury Crossing).Not the best area, but safe and cheap parking.Average is around $25.00.

Depends where in the city you need to be, but across the street from the Federal Courthouse on the waterfront is all day parking for $7. For real! <BR><BR>Of course, you have to drive in/out of the heart of big dig country but I don't think there is a cheaper lot in town!!

Cooter, If there's no way around it, you have no choice, but as much as I enjoy Boston, I absolutely abhor driving through it! It's a maze at best, and with the Big Dig, it can be an absolute nightmare. If there's anyway around renting and parking, I'd sure go for it! And yes, parking is quite expensive, though I have seen it for cheaper than you mentioned {don't ask me where - I'd never find it again}!

I do not think you can park car and leave it for days at Courthouse. Since 9/11 many lots in Boston (and probably other cities) are towing cars that are left for too long in lots/garages that generally cater to day-parkers. Be sure to check.

Gail is correct- parking at the courthouse is DAY parking only. Sorry- misread the post!

My husband and I will be making our first trip to Boston next month. Actuly we are just flying in and out of Boston and renting a car and driving to the Cape. When we first arrive we are planning on exploring the city via the T. I would like to know if there is parking at some of the T stations?

There's parking at the Alewife Station in Cambridge (the red line) and you can park overnight there. The other big parking lot is at the Riverside lot in Newton -- the cost is $2 per day. That's on the green line, specifically the D line and its the last stop.

Feff, the T statoins that have parking are the farthest outlying ones, tending to be at or near the ends of their respective lines. If I wre you, I'd just wait and get the car when I was ready to leave for the Cape, rather than picking it up as soon as I arrived, and worrying about parking it.

Many of the MBTA lots fill up quite early M-F with commuters. Spaces often open up after about noon, but AM could be tough to find a space.
