2 specific questions about Maui activities

We leave in ten days and I'm finnnnalllly getting around to looking at specific activities.

Have you done either of the following:

1) Ali'i Kula Lavendar farm- I'm a lavendar FREAK and the farm tour and lunch looks appealing.

2) Tedeschi Vineyards - tour and tastings.

If you've been there, done that, please feel free to remark on whether or not it's worth our visit- we're first-timers.

Thanks!

We stopped by the vineyards ((D)) as part of our "reverse" road to((R))Hana trip and didn't have ((o)) for the tour, but enjoyed the tasting. We came away with some unique souvenirs and a nice impression of the upcountry region, however I would not consider it a "must see". Here is a link to an article with some historical info.: tinyurl.com/y9tb6o

The vineyard "tour" is about 15 minutes long. It's a short little stroll. No vineyards actually visited, but some really interesting history. I would recommend visiting, as the drive is very beautiful, and you get a different perspective on Hawaiian life.

I agree, the vineyard gift shop/wine tasting is the way to "do" Tedeschi. It's a nice little stop, but not a must see.

I hope you are still checking this. Just got back from Hawaii and we went to Ali'i Kula Lavendar Farm on a whim. It is AMAZING! It was much more than we expected. It's more of a botanical garden in addition to a farm. It's beautiful, fragrant and so peaceful.
You have to reserve the tour at least 24 hours in advance. We weren't able to do the tour, but just enjoying the grounds was wonderful. I bought a lot in the gift shop too. If you like lemonade, you have to try the lavendar infused lemonade they sell in the cooler. It's a "must do"! Even my husband loved it!

Why don't you consider spending one day strolling through the Iao Valley, combining that with a visit to the Aquarium at Maalea. We did that on a recent trip, and thoroughly enjoyed both.
