2 rooms in Boston needed
 

We usually stay in Embassy Suites to give us and our 18 yo privacy, but it seems the one in Boston is at the airport. We could stay there and take the subway into town, but just a little inconvenient I think.

Does anyone know of a similar type of hotel or something lower cost (150.00 per room/night) in the tourist area of Boston?

We will be there for 2 weekday nights en route to a New Hampshire wedding in early June.

We've had success getting the downtown Hyatt (a nice property with a very central location) on Priceline for just under $100.

I've always been afraid of PRiceline, but it may be time to give it a try. Any advice?

The best advice is to check www.betterbidding.com and www.biddingfortravel.com for some ideas on which hotels, which districts and $$$. I have also been very pleased with Priceline results for Boston. Good luck.

Marriott has 2 courtyard hotels in Boston. Tremont St and Copley. Not sure of pricing but that would give you separate areas. Inquire about AAA rates if you're a member.

Doubletree has a Suite hotel on Soldiers' Field Road which is not in a bad location other than needing to use their shuttle to get to the T...not sure if it meets your price requirements.....Unlike many popular Boston places, it is not in a walkable place, but unlike the airport, it is centrally located.

You know Balana, people come here to get personal recommendations from people who have actually gone somewhere and done something. Anyone who is capable of registering on a forum and posting a question is certainly capable of googling for information. So providing links that can be found with the most rudimentary search skill is not going to be all that helpful. Kind like: well duh!

Still struggling with this. I've been on Pricelne every day for 2 weeks and can't get anything.

I'm up to 155/night/room for a 3 star in just about any area.

I've read bidding for travel every which way and am doing it right.

Any ideas??

Early June in Boston is going to be expensive. I expect those that have had luck with Priceline were booking Nov through March.
Book something cancelable that you can live with soon and maybe try Priceline closer to your dates.
Even the airport hotels are over $200 a night for June.

Harvard's graduation is Thur June 7.....when you say early June, if that is one of the dates you are looking for Boston hotels will have few vacancies at any price.

And MIT's commencement is the same week. Unlikely that you can book a room in the Boston area at a good price that week through any source.

We just booked mid-June on Hotwire and got the Westin Copely for $115 a night.

We were considering staying there in April and that beats our 'conference' rate by a mile ($249) so we're at Nine Zero instead.

I really like the Westin Copley. Ask at check in if they still do 'tastings' in the lounge area early evening. Last year we had some great nibbles; bread with various olive oils, variety if cheeses, strawberries and an upscale chocolate tasting.

Hotel Commonwealth is a favorite and pretty much the best. Before heading to Nantucket every summer we always stay here.

a room with 2 double beds and a kitchenette is $139. I've stayed there a couple of times, it's nice, not fancy but clean, safe and for location it's awesome. Only a block and a half walk is the Tavern On the Water, It's a restaurant on a boat in the Yacht Club. Very Reasonable and food good. Only 1/4 mile to the Green Line Subway.
You are only 1/2 mile to Little Italy (North End). Which puts you in the heart of the Freedom Trail (Old North Church, Paul Revere's House, etc.Not far from Faneuil Hall, New ENgland Aquarium (you can catch a water taxi from the pier at the end of the street which drops you off at the aquarium and faneuil Hall. The duck tours are great.The Museum of Fine Arts, The Elizabeth Gardner Museum. Mikes Pastry on 300 hanover Street..THE BEST ITALIAN PASTRY EVER.
