2 Nights in Carmel in May (after 2 nights at Pebble Beach)
Can anyone recommend a good B&B or Inn in Carmel (not Monterey or Pacific Grove--we do want Carmel) for 2 nights in May (Fri-Sat)? We are looking to spend approximately $350/night and would like to be within wakling distance to restaurants, shopping and beach, if possible.

LOL -was all set to recommend a wonderful place in Pacific Grove. Don't have a B&B but if you want to pick up some provisions for a picnic:

Bob, isn't Seven Gables in Pacific Grove? The OP specifically said they want to stay IN Carmel, and NOT in Pacific Grove or Monterey!

Some friends have stayed at the Vagabond House in Carmel and really liked it. I have no first hand experience as we usually rent a house, or for short stays, stay at the Mission Ranch, which I highly recommend but it is not within walking distance on Ocean Ave (Carmel's main shopping area).

Sorry, I skim read too fast. Yes, seven gables is in PG. Thanks for the correction sf7307.

You might want to try the Cypress Inn, owned by old time movie star, Doris Day.

Just realized I never replied to these suggestions! We decided on the Lamp Lighter Inn. Thanks to all!

Nice of you to respond and hey - how about a little post trip report - with pics if possible. :) If you haven't done it before - suggest you drive down at least as far as Nepenthene in Big Sur, and even further if you have time/like beautiful scenery.
