2 days trip to LAS Vegas including driving??
HI
My friends are planning a weekend drive to Las Vegas. Starting on Sat early morning from San Hose and coming back to San Hose by Sunday Eve.
Can anyone suggest if it's safe as well as feasibble to do so .
We are Indian so obviously not habitual of wrong side driving. Please suggest

It is San Jose (but it is pronounced sort of San 'Hozay')
Driving from SJ to LV takes more than 9 hours w/o any stops/breaks. So Saturday morning to Sunday evening for the round trip is foolhardy/crazy. More than 18 hours behind the wheel in less than 2 full days.
If you must do it in two days, fly from San Jose.

Driving not recommended. Southwest Airlines has lots of cheap flights to Vegas from San Jose or Oakland. Must go to Southwest.com however as they do not partner with any third party travel sites. Save even more by travelling later Friday and returning early Monday morning. About $160 per person r/t.
If you drive that far in 2 days, you should have just enough time to wave at Vegas as you pass by.

Suggest you go back to dorm room and study for midterms.
I hope I am not the only Fodorite who finds statements such as this offensive and inappropriate.
Ashwani, It takes 9 hours of non-stop driving to travel between San Jose and Las Vegas. If you take turns driving, leaving at 7:00 a.m. on Saturday you might arrive in Las Vegas at about 6:00 p.m., and if you depart at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, you might arrive back in San Jose before midnight. This leaves you with a maximum of 18 hours in Las Vegas. I wouldn't enjoy this trip, but I might find it fun to be crammed in a car for long periods of non-stop driving if I were a lot younger. Go for it so in 25 years you can advise your children to have a similar adventure. HTTY

HTTY~you are not alone.
and Ashwani, HTTY has a good point~I am thinking from my own old person's point of view..........if I thought like a young person, the idea of a crazy road trip with several friends, the idea is much more appealing!

If you are talking about San Jose, CA, then I agree with everyone else that you should fly and not drive. You are looking at 1,060 miles in two days. You will spend the majority of your time driving there and back. You will more than likely hit traffic leaving Las Vegas all the way to Barstow, CA.
If you are thinking about doing it over the weekend after Thanksgiving plan on extra time driving home. It's bumper to bumper from Las Vegas all the way to Barstow...I know..I've seen it going the other direction!
