2 days in NYC - what would you do
 

I'll be in NYC for 2.5 days in Nov. I'm staying in Mid-town Manhatten at the Paramount. Any suggestions for things to do and see? Where to eat? Comments on the Paramount? Thank you!!

Marianna, <BR>If you've never been to NY before - definitely go to the Empire State Building and also the World Trade Centre (Twin Towers) do one by day and one by night - the views are different and equally stunning. Enjoy.

Marianna, I just got back from 3 days there. We'd both been to the typical tourist things and wanted to do more on the street. Opted against paying $13.50 to ride a crowded elevator to the top of the World Trade Center and look down at the city. Enjoyed walking the streets of Little Italy and China Town much more. Went to the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim, walking thru Central Park on the way there. Altho I wasn't expecting to be wildly impressed, I was THRILLED to see original artwork of VanGogh, Renoir, Manet, Monet, Rodin, DaVinci, and Degas at the Met. The display of the Armani clothes at the Guggenheim didn't impress me, but they had some more Renoir, Rodin, Picasso, Manet and Monet. <BR> <BR>Check out half-price Broadway tickets at the TKTS booth - lines are shorter at the World Trade Center. Eat in Little Italy. Definitely hoof it around Times Square at night. If you've never been to the Statue, the lines are supposed to be shorter first thing in the morning. The Empire State Building is supposed to be really neat after dark. We opted not to do the City Pass - we wanted to spend more time outside than inside. Do a search on New York here. thanks for the replies. Where are the TKTS booths?? I've heard about the 1/2 price tickets before, how does this work - show selections, etc? thanks.

Didn't answer your question: You wait in a line outside at the TKTS booth on 47th between 7th & Broadway. Most of the theatres are around you or close. The available shows are posted. Come to TKTS with more than 1 show in mind. When you get to the ticket booth, they don't like hemming and hawing, so be ready to know what show you want.

I go to NY alot and I never go without visiting Central Park. <BR>For eats I love Harry's Burritos at 71st and Columbus Ave. Huge burritos and cheap. Also, I've heard Carmine's is great for Italian food(44th and Broadway). <BR>Have fun! <BR>

Marianna, <BR> <BR>I was in the same predicament last December and it does get a little hard to fit everything in, however there are a few things you MUST do while you are there in NYC. You must go to the TICKET BOOTH, it is smack dab in Times Square. You should arrive early because the line gets long, however boy is it worth it. We got two tickets to see Les Miserable both for less than $40 !!! It is at the Imperial Theatre. You must eat a slice of Pizza, you must enjoy the PORT AUTHORITY STATION, and take the subways. GET A METROPASS, it saves money on SUBWAY rides. You must go to Little Italy, try LA MELA. You must also go to China Town if you have time. Finally take a ferry over to to the Statue of Liberty, if only to say you have been there believe me it will be enough. The views of the city are spectacular. GOOD LUCK!!!!
