2 days in Fairbanks
 

At the end of our Alaska RV adventure, we have two day and one night unplanned before flying home from Fairbanks. We'll have just come from Denali and points south, and looking for a hotel suggestion to treat ourselves for to a hot shower and good night sleep. Doesn't seem to be any high end lodging in Fairbanks area. Recommendations?

We will have the good part of two days in the area and also welcome suggestions of activities for a family with kids aged 12-14. We were thinking about Riverboat cruise, Chena hot springs, Gold Dredge #8 and maybe visit the North Pole -- and also open to things a bit more adventurous.

The riverboat (paddle boat) cruise is touristy but fun. I'd recommend it.

I think we stayed at the Hampton. It was fine. Nice, clean room. Good breakfast. It served the purpose.

We just stayed at The Rivers Edge Resort in July... they have cottages and a separate RV Campground...

The riverboat cruise was great and we also did the Salmon Bake at Pioneer Village... fun for the kids too...
