1st timer trips from Phoenix

1st timers in Phoenix/Scottsdale area, we are there the 1st week of September at a timeshare. What are the 'must see' places - we will have a car so traveling is no problem.

Old Scottsdale is a cute area with galleries and restaurants. Mill St area of Tempe is fun for the restaurants. A lot of college age there. You can spend some time wandering. The Heard Museum in downtown Phoenix has the largest collection of Native American artifacts anywhere. A day trip to Sedona if you haven't been. Beautiful up there there - still warm, but not quite as crowded as summer. I'm sure others will give you some additional ideas too.

Old Scottsdale is nice to see. But let me remind you, it's going to be very very hot that time of year - so pack light. Lots of water bottles if you're sightseeing.

WE enjoy South Mountain Park, especially at sunset. There is a lot of hiking there also; the trails vary in difficulty. In addition, the Apache Trail is a scenic drive.
