People have been known to "nest" if they have been there a few times.

Pijeta,

So glad you enjoyed Kauai and the Grand Hyatt. We are returning to the Grand in September when I will celebrate a birthday with a zero. Have been thinking of either Tidepools or the Beach House for this special dinner, since you have been to both which would you suggest?

people have also been known to tie themselves to a beach bar during tsunami watch to prove they are a responsible drinker

Scootoir: I'd decide if you want a great view and service or great food.

Personally we preferred the food at Tidepools a lot more than that of The Beach House. However, we enjoyed the view and atmosphere at The Beach House much more than Tidepools.

As far as it being a special occasion: We celebrated my husband's birthday at Beach House. Like I said, the service was awesome - they even brought him cake with a candle and gave him a card the staff had signed. It was very nice. We celebrated our anniversary at Tidepools and despite being resort guests and requesting a table by the waterfall, we didn't get that and it wasn't even busy (And I purposefully asked for an early reservation to get "the best" seat). No one said happy anniversary or made it special.

So, if you are okay with being treated just like it's any other night, I'd say Tidepools food will not disappoint, but if you are looking for a night to stand in the spotlight, The Beach House might be the way to go.

Side note: not that either was bad, just pointing out the strengths of each.

Good luck. Happy birthday. Have fun

Friends really liked Tidepools but the view at the Beach House is so appealing. I'll have to ponder this for awhile.
