1800 Atlantic, Key West...

I'm staying at a Condo at 1800 Atlantic next week with some friends and I was wondering if anyone else has stayed there in the past. Specifically, is there a maid service? Are linens provided? Is downtown within walking distance? It looks like a fairly long walk, but we like a good hike. Any other impressions would be great.

Thanks!

I think this is way over on the other side of town. I have seen posts about it and it sounds like you need more than a good pair of walking shoes but maybe the number to a good cab company.

Hi Chris,
While I am not familiar with the actual place you are asking about, I doubt they offer maid service. Most condos are privately owned so it is up to the owners on exactly what amenities they will provide. On the other had if it is more of a timeshare rental it will probably be handled more like a hotel room (with maid service, larger staff, front desk). You would need to call the place directly and ask. Have a wonderful vacation.

1800 Atlantic are privately owned condos, so maid service won't be available. I'm sure linens will be provided, however. You will NOT be within walking distance of anywhere, so I'd advise you to either rent bikes or mopeds (if you're accustomed to riding on them).

It is not near anything but the beach. A friend on mine lives there and I would never think of walking there (and I am about half way between Duval Street and her condo). There is no maid service unless the individual owner supplies it. It is strictly a building with condos - no bar, no restaurant, no front desk, I don't even think they have a vending machine. The pool area is nice and never seems to get too crowded. The hallways remind me of that scene from The Shining where those two little girls are at the end of it. Very creepy. I would try to find something close to town.

Chris-
Did you do undergrad at Virginia Tech by any chance?

Nope. Attended the University of Washington. This country is thick with Chris Geier's. Last name might as well be "Smith."

I stayed there 2x and have found it a great place. Each is individually owned so you might want to ask to see pics of the inside...however I think most are pretty nice. It has a great pool/hot tub area, great for beach watching and they are very roomy w/ a full kitchen and laundry. Also they have great showers in the Master w/ six heads big enough for about 10 people or they have x-lg hot tubs in there. When we went we drove to Duvall, maybe 5 min or took a cab, but was well worth because we split the rent w/ 2 other couples and it was MUCH cheaper than renting 3 hotel rooms ocean front. I have stayed at the Pier House and the Hilton but prefer these, unless your loaded.
