12 Hour Lay Over in Newark in March 2018
Hello,
I will be landing at 8:00 am in Newark and my connecting flight (international flight) is not until 8:45 pm. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do to kill some time? My husband and I are up for anything, it would just be to the two of us. I would like to be back at the airport around 5:00ish just to be on the save side. Thanks in advance!

Definitely come into Manhattan for the day. What are your interests? You have time to spend a very full day, so it should be something you like to do. Whatever you do, take the train since you’ll be pushing rush hour in each direction. You’ll emerge at 34th St/7th Ave. across the street from Macys.

Sorry, just saw that it'll be March. Might still be cold. Perhaps Rockefeller Center, if nice go to Top of the Rock. Or from Penn Station, 5 min. walk to Empire State Bldg. If warm and "springlike" hire a cab to drive through Central Park from westside to eastside, then drive back down 5th Ave. Or go downtown and to top of Freedom Tower, March is not the busiest season so will be probably quite accessible. Probably too cold for open-air buses, but possible. Read about NYC and make some choices based on your preference.

@chelsea89 ... no one actually made any sightseeing suggestions because we asked you what kinds of things interest you, and you didn't reply. There are at least 50 don't-miss sights in NYC, but none is a don't-miss if it doesn't interest you.
