11 hour layover at LAX need Priceline tips for airport hotel.

DD is flying from New Zealand on Oct 9th arriving LAX 11.30am and then flying to Miami via American Airlines departing 10.40pm arriving 6.40am on the 10th. She then gets driven to the Island Princess cruise ship in Fort Lauderdale and starts playing her gig at 7.30pm.

I think she is going to be rather tired by the time she gets there and if she could sleep at LAX for a few hours it will be beneficial!!! What is the best zone to look for on Priceline, and what is the average price for a hotel? She probably won't be able to check in until 2pm though, so is it going to be worth it.

Any other suggestions?

if she can check in at 2 PM and lv at 7 Pm, catch a few hours sleep, if that's worth it she should be able to get a PL room for 50-60. she may luck out and be able to check in early.
there's only one zone for LAX, it's LAX.

Hotwire is showing a couple of 4 and 3.5 star hotels AT Lax for $77 so PL should be 55-65.

Looking on biddingfortravel, the 4* Hilton at LAX went for $61. I should imagine she could get a 4* for anywhere around $60-75 plus fees and taxes.

She can always go (take the hotel free shuttle bus) to the hotel early and ask for an early check-in. These large hotels have plenty of rooms available by noon. Most business travelers check out really early.

Will she have to go through customs again when she returns to LAX? That could take more time. If she can get her luggage checked through to Fort Lauderdale right after she goes through customs and immigration, that would be optimum. Then she doesn't have to lug all her luggage with her to the hotel and all she needs is to have a small daypack with her when she goes to the hotel. Also easier on reentry at the airport for her continuing flight.

At the hotel she can ask for a wakeup call.

Oh, and have her ask the hotel for a QUIET room when she gets there. Plead tiredness, insanity, whatever it'll take to get a quiet room.
