@janisj I'm so sad i really wanted to see Alcatraz. These boys r ruining my SF day w going to a game! Maybe we go at 3pm and its supposedly a 3 hrs experience but do it only for 2hrs and if we are a little late to game so be it!
Well, i've never been to Tahoe and don't think i'll ever go back so wanted to see it and do at least a couple of things there. It says its Takes about 4 hrs 12 min to get there from Yosemite. Is there one thing we should do in that small amount of time the we are there? Do you recommend a place to stay? thank you!

I really think it has to be Alcatraz or the game. Even if you cut the Alcatraz time short, you still have to take the ferry back, and then get to the ballpark. It is a really sweet ballpark, and given that you are flying in that day, just spending some afternoon time seeing some city sights and enjoying the game with your friends will be amazing. I would also consider taking out Lassen for more time in Yosemite and Lake Tahoe. Whatever guides you are reading are really underestimating the time it takes to get places in our touristic summers.

>>OH NO! It says it only takes 3 hrs 6 minutes to get to Yosemite from SF!)
Not laughing at you -- at which ever on-line calculator came up with that one. On a weekday morning it will likely take you an hour just to get out of the Bay Area.

@StuDudley Wish you could join us on this trip!! LOL!! Thank you!! Will look into hotels around Union Square or foot of Market St. Doing the loop that was recommended on visitcalifornia . Staying in Eureka because that was also suggested and looked up that on the 4th of July, when we r supposed to be there they are having a parade and fireworks at night over Humboldt Bay. So that sounded pretty fun. Do you think we should just drive down from Eureka and go straight to SF (5hours) and not stop at Mendocino? Or another town along the way?
Thank you for the suggestion of a tour of WWII batteries & bunkers at the Golden Gate National Recreation Area!! Would love to do that and definitely fitting it in. Ft Point is also a must and all the other things you have recommended. Which has me thinking i better skip Mendocino and go straight back to SF. There is just sooo much to see!! Thank you!!

@solcaltraveler yes, I think you all are right. I'll have to add another day in SF so i can really get to enjoy the city. We will be in Eureka for the 4th of July, seems like it will be fun and they will have fireworks over the bay. i really want to see Lassen so thinking of just doing it in one day.

@SF7307 yes, your itinerary looks better.
But what does everyone think about this one now...
Tues June 26 Day 1: Arrive in SF tour the city and go to BB game at 7pm
Wed June 27 Day 2: SF Alcatraz, as @StuDudley recommended go through & above the Golden Gate Bridge and Crissy Field.
Th June 28 Day 3: Yosemite
Fri June 29 Day 4: Yosemite
Sat June 30 Day 5: Lake Tahoe
Sun July 1 Day 6: Lake Tahoe
Mon July 2 Day 7: Lassen
Tues July 3 Day 8: Redwood NP
Wed July 4 Day 9: Eureka for parade and fireworks
Thurs July 5 Day 10: Mendocino or another cute coastal town closer to SF that some can recommend.
Fri July 6 Day 11: SF Ft Point and WWII batteries & bunkers at the Golden Gate National Recreation Area then take flight at midnight to go back home.
Better???

As long as you understand that your two days each at Yosemite and Lake Tahoe will be 1.5 by the time you get to either destination, and the trip out of San Francisco to Yosemite is on the beginning of the July 4 vacation period. Lake Tahoe to Lassen will take 1/2 day so your day there is really not that. And I do not want to sound so negative but you are doing a lot of driving in your 11 days - what part is ‘vacation’?
On July 5, I would drive through Mendocino, not stay there, and spend the night in San Francisco; so much to see there that you barely touch at the front end of this trip.

Again - skip Eureka. Not really that great. And as janisj stated - there is a very good chance that you won't see any fireworks because of the fog. Don't they have fireworks where you live??
