10th Anniversary trip. Where to stay?
My husband and I are planning our first visit to Hawaii for spring or summer 1999. Any suggestions on where to stay without spending a fortune. Also, what are the not-to-be-missed places to see? We haven't even decided on which islands to visit. I'm leaning towards Honolulu for 2 days then Maui for the remaining 7 days. Comments?

Congratulations on your upcoming aniversary. My Wife and I just had our 10th. We went on a cruise to The Virgin Is. However we went to Hawaii on our Honeymoon and have returned twice sence. If you'll read some of the other postings at this sight you will find that several other people recomend Kauaii and I must agree with them that it is THE BEST!!! If I could go no other place I would go to Kauaii. The other Islands are nice but saying on Maui for a week would get old. you must go to Hanama Bay while saying in Oahu it is great. If you want more info drop me an E-mail I'll give you more info in places to stay, etc.
Have a great trip I wish I were getting ready to pack myself.
Robbie

Lucky you! Love the windward side of Oahu...and know a wonderful little bed and breakfast in Maui. It's the Whale House...southern part of island. Great hosts, lots of privacy...lovely beachfront home.

Shari,
As Robbie and several others have mentioned, Kauai is a great place, especially for couples. My wife and I stayed at the newly remodeled Holiday Inn and were very pleased with the location (next to Lydgate Park on the east coast), ambiance (very low stress), size (just over 200 units) and service (good).
