It's fine that your daughter used to live there and returns to eat there. That doesn't make it the best choice for a couple traveling with a toddler - compared to a residential area that is child friendly and has immediate accees to parks and child friendly places.

The needs of a single woman are not the same.

There are parks in LIC it is not just an urban jungle. Families do live there!

Another virtue of UWS is Fairway Market and other places with really delicious takeaway meals for when you don't have it in you to go out in the evening after a long day of touring.

Fairway Market is great just for a visit, even if you're not shopping or eating!

Zabar's os even closer to the Newton - but also great for a picnic in Central Park - either makings or premade dishes.
