It was difficult keeping my teenagers interested during the six hour Kenai Fjords tour, so I can't imagine having a 2 year old on one of those boats for 10 hours. I would definitely go for a shorter boat ride.

Sorry but there is no way I would recommend a 2 year old for any Kenai fjords boat trip. The boats are small and there is little area for you to get away from other passengers- bench seating. I would also state your viewing will be limited. There is no way for you to "leave" and you could be infringing greatly on other passenger's enjoyment. It is very rough sailing getting out of the bay and I have seen sick passengers on every trip. Again - I would never consider it. Your child would probably far better like the Seavey's sled dog tour or the Sealife Center.

There is a shorter 2.5 hour tour through Renown tours. It does not go to the Kenai Fjords, but it is a charming tour nevertheless. We scenery was spectacular and we saw otters, mountain goats, and killer whales.
Whatever tour you decide to take, bundle up. It gets cold on the water, so a coat and even some gloves are advisable. In Seward, there is also the Sealife Center. I think your 2 year old would enjoy it immensly.

There is NO running around room. I can't imagine a two year old being still for 10 hours. You and those around you will be miserable.
Wait and do those things when your child is old enough for both of you to enjoy it.

Another thing to think about is seasickness. I went out on the 8 hour Major Marine tour two weeks ago. It was very choppy seas and out of the two dozen people onboard at least 1/4 were seasick. Not pleasant for an adult, misery for a child. Rob
