Doesn't seem to be a whole lot of action on the Tahiti boards here... so I thought I'd give you all a little update on our vacations plans. We are still working out our international air... but I think we are all set with the following itinerary (through Costco Travel)

travel dates: april 28- may 12

1 night tahiti - intercontinental lagoonview
1:25pm flight
3 nights - moorea sheraton (OWB)
9:20am flight
5 nights - huahine (Randes Shack) : )
10:55am flight
5 nights - bora intercontinental thalasso w/breakfast (OWB - saphire) -
2:50pm (or 7:10pm) flight back to tahiti

We originally wanted 4 nights each on Moorea and Bora Bora, but couldn't pass up the 5th night free at the Thalasso. : ) I am SO glad I finally got to this today... the OWB in both places were the last or second to last.

I can't even believe we are actually doing this trip! It's been haunting my dreams since the moment the idea popped into my head.

I am so happy for you!
I wish you could spend a couple more days in Moorea but I love that you are doing Huahine at Randes shack..
Have a wonderful time and when you are in Moorea, please go and see my friend, Mati at Blue Pineapple in Cook's Bay for the best chocolate crepes!
Alfredo's is wonderful too..
Have a wonderful time and please post a report when you come back..you will forever be a changed by the experience.

Cool. I wasn't sure if it was okay to post Randes email (as I was refered to him by a friend)

I was bummed at first too, about staying only 3 nights on Moorea, mostly because I've read that everyone is sad to leave there and wishes they stayed longer. However, the deal we got had us staying longer in Bora which cut short Moorea. I'm sure it's all gonna be good, though. Your comment about being changed forever gave me the chills! : )

...and you don't have to ask me twice to go someplace for chocolate crepes! YUM

reminds me of the the week we spent outside of Paia on Maui... had crepes OFTEN througout the week. favorite was banana and chocolate from the Huelo fruit stand and savory crepes from a little place in Paia town. Mmmmmm.........

I am trying to get out sometime this year..hopefully Air Tahiti Nui will have a good special from LAX..
Tahiti for me was truly a going home experience that I can only describe as a past cellular memory that I have only experienced one other time and that was in Paris..
When you are in Tahiti, do go to the Marche..
I am so happy for you!

Hi acaigirl:

Your final itin sounds super! I can't wait to hear about the IC Thalasso Spa on BB.

It is going to have to wait for me, but I WILL get there and soon. I am DONE with letting DH pick the destinations, LOL!

TahitiTams-
Our flight to Moorea leaves at 1:25 I think... does this give us enough time to visit the Marche? We have an air pass, but I was thinking we could always try to catch the last ferry over at 4:30. Any advice?

HappyCheeseHead! I'm so sorry. What's up with DH? How could he not go for Bora Bora? Have you showed him pics? Silly man...
I think our RT Air Tahiti Nui out of LAX was about $1000 pp. Not sure how much it is to get to Bora Bora from there... our air pass has us going to Moorea-Huahine-Bora Bora and back to Tahiti for around $600 pp I think.

And yes, I decided to fly back to LAX from Honolulu before flying out to Tahiti. This way I get to meet up and fly with hubby (and sneak some of my belongings into his bag), it's CHEAPER, and I get to store my laptop and extra things (from 2 months in Hawaii) at friend's house and pick up when I come back through LAX. I am a little bummed about having to spend our first night together, crashing on our friend's couch, rather than reuniting at the IC Tahiti. But I think all in all it's best this way.

Reading this has gotten me so excited! My fiance and I recently started planning our Tahiti honeymoon for October. I'm gathering all the information I can at this point but I can't wait to get there!
Lynnejoel1015, I noticed on one of your posts that you were there a couple years ago for your honeymoon and I was wondering if I could pick your brain??
Take care all! And thanks again for all the tid bits of information!
