10,000 WAVES-WHAT IS IT?

My husband and I will be visiting Santa Fe for the first time this April. What is 10,000 waves?

It is a fabulous spa in the Japanese style. My wife and I have been there 5 or 6 times

Check out their website

Great Japanese-style spa. In addition to the usual (massages, wraps, etc) they have some more unusual things like outdoor hottubs and cold water plunges.

P.S. When you type in all caps, it feels like you're shouting. :=)

Great place! They have both private hottubs and public tubbs. If you dont want to see boiling huevos, pay a little extra for the private room!

Some of the tubs are outdoors. Go at night time and gaze at the the beautiful New Mexico sky and see all the stars!

Thanks so much! We'll be sure to visit one night.

Make sure you have a reservation if you want any spa servicies or a private pool. I highly reccommend the spa servicies there.....they are awesome.

Vivalafiesta, that was pretty funny! I've always meant to check this place out and never have. I have a hot tub at home and just can't imagine what's so special about their tubs

Mei: What spa services did you get?

I went with some girlfriends. Three of us had the Indo-Asian Hot Oil Treatment, 1 had the Thai massage and another had the Nose to Toes. We were all very happy with everything. They have a great little gift shop as well. I really love Santa Fe....be many times and always like going back. Have fun and make sure you eat at The Shed.

Oh Nose to Toes sounds good :)

I have been to 10,000 Waves every year for the past 10 years and it just improves with time.

My partner and I stayed there for 4 nights of our honeymoon in December 2004. It was fabulous. As wonderful as it must be to go there for the day, it was unbelievably wonderful to stay. We trekked through the trees in robes and giant kimonos, for the most amazing spa treatments ever. GET A THAI MASSAGE WITH JANE. And don't miss the hot stone massage with (I wish I could remember her name!! but make sure you don't get one with Kai.) The indo-asian hot oil treatment was phenomenal - esp. good as a couple's treatment. The waterfall tub was the best. Obviously, I can't say enough.

I should point out for those that are going that most parts of the spa are co-ed. That may be obvious to some, but it wasn't to me. In fact, it was the site of one of my more embarrassing spa moments.

Prior to a wrap treatment, the staff asked me to change into my robe and go into the sauna to gradually increase body temp. Having been to saunas at my gym in NY, I thought it was all female. Indeed, there were only females in the sauna when I got there. So, I did what everyone in NY does and dropped my robe and made myself comfy. No one blinked. Imagine my embarrassment when a man walked in a few minutes later!

Let this be a warning to you. . . .

ronkala Apr 30th, 2005 11:00 AM

So did anyone blink then?
