1 free day in Orlando - please help

I will have one weekday free in Orlando from around 10 am til 4. I will not have a car and will be taking taxis or shuttles from the Peabody Hotel. We need to be at airport by 4, so my plan is to store luggage at hotel (does this make sense?), take taxi to Disney World Magic Kingdom or Epcot, spend day there, take taxi back to Peabody to pick up luggage and then head to airport. Any other suggestions? I am in my 30's and will be with one coworker a little younger than me. What would you do for day?

Honestly, I don't think this makes any sense at all. Not only is it fairly distant to WDW from the Peabody (at least a 30- to 45-minute trip depending on traffic), but you will be arriving at the peak hour and will only be able to stay for 3 or 4 hours. Is that really worth the steep price?

I'd visit Universal Studios or (better) Sea World, both of which are much closer to the Peabody. Or just do some shopping at the outlet mall. Even at Sea World, you arrive at peak hours and pay over $60 for less than 4 hours at the park. Just not worth it to me.

Doug is absolutely right. It is simply not feasable. Any of the WDW or Universal parks are all day attractions. Think 8,10 or even 12 hours and you will not even get to see everything. I'd not waste my time (and $$$) with Sea World for the same reason.

The Prime Outlets <http://www.primeoutlets.com/cntrdefa...ntrid=1077> at the north end of International Drive are closer and a much better fit with your available time. Best of all, you don't need a car to get there. Simply hop on and off with the I Ride Trolley <http://www.iridetrolley.com/>.

Thanks! Can somebody give me a good description of what the Universal Parks are like- amusement parks? Movie sets? etc...

Universal Studios Florida is a combination of movie set with movie themed park rides, a few shows and attractions. It appeals to a broad age range. Some are quite tame and a few others are more intense. There is a lot of stuff in between.

Islands of Adventure (right next door) is 100% theme park with rides and attractions that appeal more (but not exclusively) to young adults and teenagers. There are several roller-coaster type rides.

Unless you are a nut about amusement parks, I would suggest you spend a few hours shuttling up and down International Drive. There is everything you could imagine related to shopping or eating. If that doesn't appeal to you, then I agree that Universal Studios is the place.
