1/2 theatre tickets in San Francisco?

Hello!

I am going to be in the City 2/28/03-3/02/03.
I was told that there is a place to get 1/2 price theatre tickets the day of the performances. Does anyone know where it is and what it is called.

Also, any suggestions on great fish restaurants. Tadich Grill has been suggested by many of my friends. Any place else?

The ticket booth is TIX on Union Square. For information:
http://www.theatrebayarea.org/

Sorry, I don't do fish!

Another source for discounted tickets (although I'm not familiar with SF, only NYC) is on ebay.com when people cancel trips etc. and need to unload tickets on short notice. I've had good luck using this method several times.

Also, you can try www.craigslist.org if you can't find tickets the others ways suggested. People from the Bay area (San Francisco and San Jose) use this site to sell and buy tickets.

I've had very good luck at the Union Square half price booth, and there never seem to be any lines. Last year the booth was located in the garage below ground. I'm not sure how the construction is going now and so not sure if the booth is still down there or relocated above ground, but it is still somewhere at Union Square.

A bit expensive, but I really loved Farallon for seafood. They do some rather odd combinations which I think turn some people off, but I've eaten there twice and loved it both times. Tadich Grill didn't do much for me to be honest -- neat old fashioned "gentlemen's club" atmosphere, but thought the food was mediocre and very expensive for what it was.

I visited San Francisco in November, and the construction at Union Square is complete. The half-price ticket booth is above-ground in a new building at the west side of the square. We stayed at Campton Place, and often walked through Union Square. I never saw a line at the booth.
