Where to go for family week long reunion of 19 adults and teens.

We are a 5 familys wanting a place to get together summer 2010 to celebrate several graduations. We love outdoors, beach, mountains, lakes, fishing, relaxing, hiking...
We do enjoy each others company, the cousins all get along as do the adults-expecially while on vacation : )

We are from Co. NC. & Pa. We usually vacation at the beach in NC but are interested in exploring other ideas. We would like a space that accomodates us all in one or two cabins/houses. We have discussed travel outside the US or find somewhere fun in the US. Any suggestions?

Two ideas come to mind- an Alaska cruise or a stay on Cape Cod.
If the latter, we know Eastham best. There are realtors who can easily find you 2-3 houses near each other and to the water.

Cape May, NJ has some places big enough for all of you; it's different from the NC beaches, of course, but it's fun for a family reunion. (We visit Corolla often, but did Cape May for Christmas one year; quite lovely.) Ocean City NJ is starting to get some larger places now, as well, or a couple of houses together could work.

You could try a whole house booking in Newport RI. La Farge Perry House is a beautiful inn within walking distance of everywhere in Newport. You can walk the cliff walk (a 3 1/2 mile walk) visit any of the 7 mansions (open to the public)built in the gilded age. The tennis Hall of fame is in Newport. There are numerous beatiful beaches and you can also rent a sailboat for the family or take a dinner cruise. Newport also has a multitude of fine dining establishments.

Gatlinburg Tennessee is very nice for family reunions. You can rent chalets in the mountains that can easily accommodate large family groups. My daughter-in-laws family meets there every year and loves it. It is near Smoky Mountain National Park and there’s a lot to do in town also. Another really nice destination with lots of rentals for large groups is Acadia National Park in Maine.

Ohana Family Camp on Lake Fairlee, Vermont is a terrific place for families to gather. It's a Historic camp recently renovated. Private cabins with field stone fireplaces, new baths and new kitchenettes. Tent cabin unit with a central bathhouse also available. July and August - 1 week family camps. Delicious meals served in Dining Hall overlooking mountains and lake. Hiking, waterfront activities, tennis, crafts, kids activities with counselors during summer. www.ohanacamp.org
