Websites for posting trip photos
We just returned from a wonderful 3 weeks in Australia and will post a trip repoprt on the Fodors Australia/South Pacific part of this website soon. I'd like to post my trip photos on a commercial website, e.g., Shutterfly, Snapfish, Kodak, but have never done this before and would appreciate advice about the best one to use. I'd like to be add to add captions and ideally headings, e.g., for different cities or sights. Do any of the websites allow you to rotate or crop, or does that have to be done in advance?
Thanks in advance for your advice.

You should do all your photo editing prior to posting on any website. Most do not allow for rotating, etc. afterward.
I use www.pbase.com which I find easy to use, but after a free trial it is a pay site unlike Kodak, etc. where they expect to make their $$ on you purchasing prints of your images.

I've been pretty happy with Shutterfly. It does allow for basic editing like rotating and cropping; it also has a red-eye reduction option that I've never used (I edit in Photoshop first). Uploading, organizing, etc. is fairly easy...
Years ago, my sister suggested Shutterfly over Kodak and Snapfish, as she found the quality of their pics better - skin, especially, looked more real in their prints than the others. (This was when Kodak was still Ofoto - don't know what they're like now.)
If you're looking at a couple of free sites, you might want to register with each of them and go thru the process of uploading a couple of photos. That would help you decide which interface, etc. you like the best.

Thanks for the link, bookhall, which is great though somewhat overwhelming. One thing that I'm interested in, but I'm not sure whether it's covered in that website, is having an album, with my labels, printed. In addition to high-quality photos (precision preserved, colors correct), I'd like to be able to crop/zoom. I've already rotated my photos so I don't need that. Bellamax sounds interesting for its ability to do Photoshop-type things but I couldn't find its prices.
