Travel tip for family beach vaca with a 3 year old
My wife and I are trying to plan a vacation for our 3 year old son. Last year we did a Maine beach trip and loved it!! Now just looking for something a little different and a little warmer but still on the beach. Our trip would be for 5 days at the end of July. We are looking for either a quaint beach town or we are also considering an all inclusive caribbean resort. If you've had a great vacation that a 3 year old would love I would love to hear about it!! Anything Caribbean we are trying to keep withing 3 hour flight of Atlanta. Thanks again for all and any advice

If you are considering the Caribbean you should re-post your question on the "Caribbean Forum (use the "Change Forum" link at the top of this thread.
In the meantime look at resorts on the island of Providenciales in the Turks & Caicos. It's easily reached from Atlanta (about 3 hours) has 11 miles of soft white sand beach lapped by calm bright turquoise waters and you can find a variety of accommodations from simple hotel rooms, to "condo resorts" that are perfect for families to the very popular family oriented Beaches Resort.
If you want to stay in the US take a look at the Barrier islands of South Carolina (Wild dunes on Isle of Palms, Kiawah Island, Pawley's Island and Fripp Island to name a few or consider Sea Island in your home state of Georgia or Amelia Island outside of Jacksonville, Florida.

I love Coronado. We visited there a couple of years ago with our son, who was then 5. You could splurge and stay at the Hotel Del Coronado right on the beach. I remember that the water was chilly, but we were there in mid-May so it might be different at the end of July.
Amelia Island or Sea Island would be wonderful. Consider Sanibel Island as well. Three-year-olds are notorious for deciding that they hate waves/salt/sand/all of the above at any given moment, so I suggest somewhere with a pool and some other activities in case you have to bail on the beach.
