Newly retired single teacher seeking singles travel advice
Howdy-
Is there a particular forum within this web site that would help me put together a fun filled single traveling experience without having to pay for the "single supplement"?
TIA

Marcus - the Solo Traveler board was folded into the Smart Travel Tips board. If you search on "solo" on this board you should find a number of discussions on the whys and wherefore of single travel.
What exactly do you mean by "fun-filled"? And are you looking for a tour? There are a number of companies (e.g. Intrepid) that don't charge a single supplement, but will require you to share a room with another single of the same sex.

Alas the Fodor's Solo Forum is no more, but you can find the old post by seaching with the menu up in the box on the right hand corner of the screen under "Solo Travler". There's lots of general helpful tips still available there.
What kind of thing are you looking for?
I travel solo & just put together my own trips. Waikiki and Puerto Vallarta are my two favorite easy and fun destinations.
I saw in my Budget Travel magazine that Globus's tours in Europe this winter were being offered without a single supplement.

Elderhostel has some interesting and educational focused tours. I have a retired single friend who travels with them often (to interesting places like Spain, Iran, Maldives, Panama Canal, etc.)
She says she is often one of the youngest at 62 years old.
