Planning a trip in late June/early July for 2 weeks with my husband and our 2 year old son from NYC and looking for some suggestions!

Would prefer:

non-stop flight 8 hours or less
on/closeby to BEACH!
nearby day trips
safe
non-malaria zone
clean water
remotely easy to get around

You are likely to get more responses if you post on the location boards, for instance, the Caribbean, if that interests you. You could reach Europe in eight hours, I don't think of it as a beach destination, but loads of Europeans vacation at the beach each year. I also wondered about Nove Scotia, which is much closer. I think PEI is supposed to have good beaches.

Nonstop flight will probably determine your destination. What islands or coastal resorts can you get to, via nonstop? I'd start there to narrow down your choices.

And it needs to be international because? There is always Florida for great beaches, clean water, non malaria zone.
