Destination suggestion, departing from Vegas and returning to Detroit

Jump to last reply

I want to plan a short, 6-7 night winter getaway for my husband and myself in early Feb. Husband will be departing from LAS and I will be departing from Detroit. We will meet at the arrival airport (or on a connecting flight if it worked out that way), or hotel if our flights are several hours apart. We will both be returning to Detroit, and that flight can be more difficult. The outbound flight from Vegas is what needs to be low-pain.

We want someplace warm/warm-ish (doesn't have to be hot/tropical). Outbound travel from Vegas needs to be nonstop. Outbound travel from Detroit can have one stop.

Knowing the nonstop flights from Vegas would be helpful but when I try to google that I mostly turn up flights and packages TO vegas and many are from US cities that do not interest us.

There are direct flights from LAS to MEX, so that is intriguing. My thinking with that option is a combination of Mexico City and Puebla. But I'm not sure if the recent earthquake(s) would be an issue?

I'm not married to Mexico City, it's just one flight that I know is available non stop from Vegas and feasible from Detroit. And Mexico is appealing. But I'm open to other suggestions.

We want some history and art/culture, mild weather, good food, scenic or pretty/interesting surroundings and an easy going pace for at least half the trip. A couple nights in a busier place would be welcome too.
