Wondering what to do about that gross remote control in the hotel room? This is so simple. Take along an extra zip lock baggie and zip it into the baggie.

i like it!

good idea! I've generally wiped it down with baby wipes, but even then it seems icky!

If your hotel supplies a plastic shower cap in the bathroom, you can use that too.
|
Better yet if you are really obsessed about the remote wash your hands! Saves on plastic and keeps you clean.
They do clean remotes in hotels you know. At least most hotels they do. I've never yet come across one which I found gross. |
or don't watch TV :-) that's what I do
|
Not even to find a weather forecast? Wow good for you Suze :)

The remote at my house gets disgusting, and once a year or so I break down and clean it with qtips and alcohol and something very sharp (to get the tiny lint buildup out of the area around the buttons). But I still use it without a baggie. However, I saw the baggie idea posted by that germophobe who takes her own sheets and even I, a staunch anti-germophobe, thought it didn't sound like a bad idea for travel.

hetismij~ OK I confess. It depends where I am. Actually in Mexico I do watch TV because I adore their "novellas" (the soap operas in Spanish everyone in town seems to have on at certain times), they're a riot! But in the mainland U.S. or Hawaii to switch on the same programs as I'd watch at home, nope. And the weather forecase is NEVER right (as a long-time Seattle-ite I can say that) so what's the point in that?? -lol

I'm not worried about the dirt I CAN see on a hotel remote...
:P |
So wash your hands after using it. If you don't put your hands in your mouth you will be fine anyway.
|
I'm usually more bothered about the bed spread which doesn't get washed between guests...
