I remember one time back in UAE I forgot my phone somewhere and when I got in my taxi I remembered. The taxi driver didn't understand my language but somehow got what I was trying to say. Called from his phone. a local answered, talked to him in the native language, and decided to pick it up from a location we both were near. I felt so good. Such nice people!

In India, Peru and Egypt, we have received what could only be described as 'above and beyond' assistance from local people while we were ill.
I am done. The grateful.

We were on a group tour in Jordan. I was very excited because it was the day we were scheduled to visit Petra. I stepped out of the shower and my back went out. I could barely stand up. I met the tour group and told them what happened (well, they could see I was stooped over) and one woman went back to her room and brought me walking sticks, at least three others offered me Oxycodone, another offered me a pain patch. With all that help I managed to hobble around and explore Petra.

I remember when I was in Akihabara I was looking for the Super Potato Video Game Store. I asked this Japanese guy for directions but because of the language barrier, he just went his way to show me the place. I think it took us probably a 10-minute walk and I felt guilty that I took that much of his time. I was really thankful for his gesture. I still wish I could give him some token of gratitude aside from thanking him non-stop at that time.

Our first visit to Salzburg, we were at the biergarten overlooking the city. We walked the length of the terrace looking for vacant seats with a view. None available. Working our way back toward the door, a couple seated by the rail jumped up and offered their seats saying they came there often. As visitors we should have the seats. We thanked them and asked them to join us. They were a delightful couple who lived in a town about 45 minutes from Salzburg. Giving us his card, they insisted we let them know if we were ever in their area. A few days later, driving in the country, we saw a sign for their town so we detoured to it. A pretty little town with a phone booth in the park, we did call. Moments later they were both through the park toward us, talked us into staying in their town, helped install us in a delightful inn. We have stayed in touch and visited a couple more times!

While in Palawan, we were swimming in the Barracuda Lake and I accidentally dropped my snorkel. I didn't know what to do since I'm not a good swimmer, so I instantly panicked. Luckily, there was a professional diver below and he handed me my snorkel. I kinda feel bad because I interrupted their sight seeing below lol

When I was travelling around Italy I met an amazing lady in Bologna. I was tired and had a rest on the bench near a pretty house. Then an old (but such a stylish lady) came to me and simply invited to her 70th birthday party. Can you imagine what I felt at that moment? Have you ever invited a foreign stranger from the street to your house? She treated me with delicious cupcakes. Also, there was a chocolate fountain, which looked incredible. Now, every time I eat fruits with chocolate, I remember that nice journey and kindness of that nice person.

This NY Eve I was in Cyprus with girlfriend an her brother, and we couldn't find a decent spot to celebrate- most places were already booked and there ws no "communal" NY Eve organised by the city of Nikosia. All of the sudden, we met an elderly couple who invited us to their "taverna" to join the massive celebration there, and did not want a penny for this

When I traveled with my best friend to Sao Paulo, Brazil, a stranger who was working at the airport has finished his shift when we asked him how to get to the bus station. He explained to us and he mentioned that he was waiting for his colleague to go home. He offered to give us a lift to our hotel. It seemed strange but we trusted him. They brought us to the hotel by car and we actually ended up meeting them the next day and they showed us around. It was a scary moment in the beginning, but it ended up being very enjoyable, having a local showing us the city.

It was rush hour and stations were packed in NYC. My MTA card decided to stop working. I wanted to complain ( LOL foreigner)
The station attendant were busy doing other things and being snobby.
A lady approached me and offered to swipe me in. She did just that without any questions.
