Shopping? What sort of shopping? Clothes? Shoes? Souvenirs? Jewelry? Alcohol? Food? What?

It would probably also help to mention budget. It would be silly for people to make a list of really expensive shops if you can't afford it. Or a list of cheap flea markets and the equivalent of dollar stores if you actually do have lots of money to shop for.

Amsterdam is one of the cities with most museums per square km, with a very wide selection in museums, from art and history to handbags and glasses, weed and torture, so have a look in the museum list on this site before you say you do not like museums:Other things to do, just walk around and enjoy the city, use your eyes, whether you enjoy the buildings or the women in the windows of the red light district. Just remember that they are often forced there or have found their lives worse than this, most do not work there for fun.Great places to eat, I like to use one of the restaurants on Zeedijk, from Nieuwmarkt towards Centraalstation, but there are also many restaurants around Leidseplein, and many more all over town.

There are many things to buy, but you have to buy a public transportation card at Amsterdam Central Station.

Stroopwaffles, waffle cookies filled with caramel, are sold in tins, even in tne gate area at the airport.

Snarky answer: Weed and hookers although technically you're only buying one of those.

Real answer: We need more information. Where are you coming from? What kinds of things are you looking for (clothing, food, drink, crafts, souvenirs, etc.)? What is your budget? Likes? Dislikes?
