Welcome Lonely Planet forums members!
 

As you may know, Lonely Planet has gotten rid of their moderators and shut down their "Thorn Tree" forums. While this is undoubtedly a sad shock to their members, it gives us an opportunity to welcome the Lonely Planet community here, to Fodor's.

We have already started seeing an influx of new registrations, and hope that the LP community feels safe and comfortable here. There may be a period of adjustment for them, as we certainly have a different format, and a slightly different tone, but we are all travelers and we're here for the same thing.

So please, if you see a new member who seems to know their way around a forum, welcome them and help them learn their way around here.

If you have any questions, feel free to point them in my direction.
