VPN and proxy server recommendations
 

We travel a lot and are currently using a Netshade app for iPad. It used to work ok but the performance seems to have deteriorated a lot of late despite a recent upgraded version. I use the VPN for financial transactions which works ok but the proxy server, which I use for downloading TV programmes etc. from home is hopeless keeps cutting out, slows download speed considerable etc..

Part of the problem is that we are travelling around Asia at the moment where broadband speed vary from very slow ( usually the case) to very fast (e.g. Korea was 30-50 mgbs).

Anyone have any experience of other providers they would recommend. Any suggestions or experiences would be appreciated.

I'm currently using Witopia. In general it is fine, certainly it was fine on my iPad in Europe last year, but occasionally it slows down access on my home desktop (running Windows 7 and Firefox). It has a choice of protocols and a long list of servers.
