Trip planning and sharing

Hi guys,

I'm trying to get some sage advice on what's your favorite ways to share your experiences coming back from a trip. Where do you go to post trip reports, photos, advice? Are there any good tools out there?

Also, what do you when you want to plan a new trip, or when you find yourself in a new place and you want to find out what cool things there are to do and explore around? Obviously, Thorn Tree is a great resource, but anything else you use for inspiration?

Looking forward to your ideas!

Right here. You do realize you are posting on Fodors, I hope?

Besides posting here, I also have a blog:

Uh, Fodor's?

Trip Advisor, Fodor's, and (depending on destination) Thorn Tree are my three favorite internet travel forums.

I don't post trip reports or photos after.

LOL... Yep, Fodor's a great resource too. Trying to see if there's other things out there.

Kathy, lovely blog and pics, btw. Are you mostly sharing this with family and friends, or do you get other travels to visit your sites as well?

I'm wondering if there's a way to find out about what can be done somewhere once I get there. Maybe better filtering? Or using GPS on a mobile phone? How would I find out web sites that could help me once I'm somewhere...?

I get visitors to the blog from all over the world. Many hits are from the US, but maybe half from elsewhere.

I still use guidebooks. Useful web sites depend on where you're going - inyourpocket is good for Eastern Europe, talesofasia for Cambodia, for instance. You find them in guidebooks, or on forums like these.

NOT Frommer's. That is the lamest travel website ever!

You can share your stories on many of peoples blog, or create your own blog for sharing stories and other stuff related to your travel experiences!
