Travelling while pregnant?

Will travel to Asia next month. Did anyone travel during these times while pregnant? Any advice???

My sister traveled while being pregnant and she was on her first trimester , Doctor suggests that pregnant women should not travel while being pregnant 35 weeks or more.

please ask your doctor to help you out on this.

Also check with a travel medicine service regarding possible infectious diseases and their treatment/prevention medications and/or vaccinations, as some may be incompatible with a safe pregnancy. And get a flu shot now if you haven't had one yet, as flu is more deadly in pregnant women.

Rather than ask random, unqualified strangers on a travel forum, for ten sake of your unborn child, I suggest you google zika and Asia. Then do the same for dengue fever, malaria. Then consult your GP or paediatrician.

You need your doctor's advice, not ours.

If you decide to go ahead with this, you should probably get medical (including evacuation) travel insurance.

I went to the Maldives during my babymoon and it was during my second trimester. But now I would be more worried about Zika.

Dengue, malaria, etc.. are an unfortunate risk for traveling in Asia. What about another destination?

We nearly lost a child when hiking and unknowing my wife was pregnant. Upon return my wife had a 'decollement placentaire' - no idea about translation and will not look up myself.
Pay attention. Do less than when not pregnant.

Hi All, I am Ming, I have my cousin, who travelled to hong-kong being 4 months pregnant. As per my knowledge, you should not be travelling when you are 6-7 months pregnant.

As long as there are no identified complications or concerns with your pregnancy, it is generally safe to travel at all times during your pregnancy. The ideal time to travel during pregnancy is the second trimester. In most cases, you are past the morning sickness of the first trimester and several weeks from the third stage of pregnancy when you are more easily fatigued. Make consultations!

I have only one advice: visit your doctor. He will tell you what you can or can not do, what do you need for trip. You may be categorically prohibited from flying or sitting while sitting. You need to consult a doctor. This will be the best choice for your's and your child's health.

This post is from October. "Next month" has already come and gone. The baby is here already hopefully safe and sound at home.

The baby is here? I must have missed a post.

OK you're right we don't know ... since we don't know just how pregnant our OP was when she posted.

In my opinion, you shouldn't ask these kind of questions on forum anyway :P Maybe if it were medical forum of some kind... But still, it's better to just go to a gynecologist.

As far as I know, it is safe as long as you and your fetus are healthy, you can travel safely until you are 36 weeks pregnant

Asia is a continent. not a country.. pretty sure there are differences in safety and availablity of medical help varies GREATLY depending on where one goes.

Who posts " going to North America" when that encompasses Canada, USA and Mexico.. and expect the same answers would apply to all three countries. ( and technically North America includes all the Carribbean islands.. ) ..
