@crellston!

Perfect answer! Just what I wanted to hear, was having trouble finding about what happens if lost or stolen but if they can transfer amounts thats perfect!

Thanks so much.

You are very welcome. Enjoy your travels.

Charles Schwab visa debit card is my magic card. NO FEE what so ever. We were in Baltic Sea this summer. We did not needed to exchange money. Just keep 50 euro in case you need go use it for restroom.

You need 50 euro for a public restroom?

MmePerdu Sep 20th, 2015 08:32 AM

That's what I thought, suze. Pictured myself peeing outside before paying 50€.

I assumed the writer meant 50 euro cents....

suze Sep 21st, 2015 03:09 PM

Or maybe they meant 50 euro in small bills or change for incidental expenses (but that's not what they said).

MmePerdu Sep 21st, 2015 06:09 PM

We both knew what was meant but it's more fun to imagine an extreme sometimes, than accept the mundane answer, isn't it? Down with reality, I say!

By the way, greetings from Oaxaca.

Might still be a good idea to have a credit card, even if the limit is small(er).
I was injured on a trip in Burma earlier this year and needed to be flown home ASAP, but had to go business. Had I not been able to text my mom to arrange my flight home, I would have needed a way to pay for the $5200 flight home myself, and I would've put it on a credit card- because at the end of my trip I didn't have that amount in my checking account that was linked to my ATM cards (not that I would've used debit anyways- points!)

May be a good idea to have a CC as a back up, just in case.
