Travel suggestions for solo female 1 week in September

Hello

I would like to take a trip during the second week of September, but I need help coming up with a destination.

I want to see something culturally, historically, or naturally unique or of particular interest (eg UNESCO world heritage site). For example, I've been to Iguazu falls in Brazil/Argentina and the Vasa Museum in Stockholm.

I also want to go someplace where the weather is mild in September. For me that means ~60-80F and dry.

I will be travelling alone, but I'm open to joining a tour.

Any suggestions?

Where are you traveling from? With only one week, I wouldn't want to recommend somewhere that would take a long time to get to and from.

A very general idea of your budget is also helpful.

I travel solo and a surprisingly wonderful UNESCO site is Lunnenburg Nova Scotia which should still be beautiful in Sept. Fly to Halifax, or there's a ferry from Maine and drive south down the coast.... Mahone Bay, Lunnenberg Bay of Fundy.....

Yay! Lunenburg what a great suggestion,& Nova Scotia in general. I'm biased - I used to live there (Haifax), though I am now in Costa Rica.

Autumn is a fantastic time to visit.

I don't know where you live (I am Canadian so know the Nova Scotia recommendations) but I suggest you go somewhere different where you can experience another culture. Like Guatemala (there is a very easy, very interesting travel loop and shuttle vans that can take you from one destination to another). Or San Miguel in Mexico. Mexico City also has tons of culture and you could combine it with Oaxaca perhaps. I have many suggestions on my travel blog as well as advice for those travelling on their own. It's at ridingthebuses.wordpress.com.

I enjoyed Prague in the beginning of September. You can also take day trips to Kutna Hora and Keskly Crumbly (yeah, I know I butchered the spelling there). Very easy to do as a solo traveler.
