Travel adapter and router combo

I was looking for a travel adapter for an upcoming trip to Italy and found this travel adapter and router combo: It looks pretty awesome!

It says there's no voltage/frequency conversion, so do you think I'll need to also use a converter if I'm plugging in my phone, laptop, hair dryer, and travel iron? Thanks!

Looks like a waste of money and baggage space to me, unless you actually NEED a wifi router. Do you? Aside from that it's just a bulky (and expensive) universal adapter. If your phone etc work on multiple voltages you will not need a converter, if not, you will. Same answer as for an adapter that isn't being a router at the same time.

Seems like a relatively useless gadget.

Why would you want to be a "gadget toting traveler"? Start lightening your load by leaving the travel iron and hair dryer at home.
