Transp. to Miami from Fort. Lauderdale

We are cruising in November, our ship leaves from Miami. Were flying into Fort. Laud. the day before to board the ship. Any suggestions for transportation from Fort. Laud. to Miami. Our hotel suggested a taxi which would run around $80 they said. So were just trying to come up with other options possibly. Thanks

Hi liz--I moved this topic from our travel tips forum because I think you'll get more specific advice here.

Liz, try SAS

http://www.ridesas.com/

They get good reviews on Cruise Critic. I researched the company and would have booked them had we needed the service. BTW, I have absolutely no connection to SAS.

Bookmarking. We'll need a shuttle to go the other way - from the cruise to FLL.

I believe that SuperShuttle offers service between Fort Lauderdale airport and the cruise port in Miami. You can verify on the SuperShuttle web site. It might be the cheapest option. I still think you should count on $20 or $25 per person for the shuttle, and then you'd be stuck car-less overnight in Miami.

But this is common, and several companies cover this route. You might also check car-rental prices; it could be the same (or less) to rent a car for one day in each direction.
