Towels
 

I am planning on packing my own towel when I head to Europe in 2 weeks (I am staying mostly in hostels).

Does anyone have a recommendation as to what brand I should purchase?

I've read a few reviews on MSR, Britanne Aquis and Rick Steves, but nothing has swayed my decision yet. I definitely want something light, that packs small and dries quickly. Price is also a factor.

I take baby washcloths to Europe because they are very thin and dry fast. I've never taken a towel but i wonder if a baby towel would dry fast too.

When my kids when backpacking, they travelled extremely light and included a backpackers towel in their belongings. I don't know exactly what they are called, but they dry quickly and are extremely absorbant.

Eagle Creek has fast drying towels and you can find them at Magellans travel supplies. They are not cheap but I have carried one for years. I use it when I hand wash underwear and clothes to get a lot of the moisture out to make drying quicker.

If you take one towel with you does it mean you are going to do laundry every day? Are you planning to bring one towel for each day? Maybe washcloths would do?

You could try the towels that swimmers and divers use. They are small but really aborbs lots of water. They are called Sammy towels after the inventor. Google Sammy towels and you will find stores to buy from or order.

Use a T-shirt from the day before :-D

earlxx - Many people are comfortable using a towel more than once before washing it. After all, you're using it to remove clean water from your clean body. ;)
