Tauck...Maupintour

We use Tauck and love them. We want to go on a European tour to an area that Tauck does not cover but Maupintour does. Is there anyone who has used both these groups and could give us a good comparison? I don't think we would be interested in any other tour group...I've done alot of research and only Tauck and Maupintour seem to be at a level of luxury and price that would work for us. I just don't know too much about Maupintour and am interested in how they compare to Tauck.

Can't compare the two but I have done 3 tours with Maupintour - Greece/Turkey, Kenya/Tanzania and Egypt. I really don't know how they could have improved on anything. All were wonderful and first class.

Maupin is higher end than Tauck. We did the 16 day Grand Italy tour 2 years ago and loved it. Prices have really gone up this past year... since you're going that high you may also want to consider Abercrombie and Kent.

One major advantage that Maupin had was that our tour guide was European and not American, unlike our Tauck tour. We've done 5 escorted tours and Maupin's guide was our second favorite. A Brit that knew everything from history to politics. Most of Maupin's guides are historains.

I was disappointed with the food 1-2 times on Maupin but on the same trip we had meals that were far more superior than Tauck's.

Hope this helps. Any further questions please don't hesitate to ask:)

PS, you will definitely want to use an online consolidator travel agent for your tour such as trafalgartours4less.com (they discount Tauck and Maupin tours for 5-8% off the land price). Please do contact them for a quote as it literally saves hundreds of dollars. We have used them 2 times with no problems.

Both are good companies as far as I have observed here in Turkey. Tauck seems more active on their itineraries.
I do not know where you wish to travel. However you could always organise a tailormade itinerary and visit places if you have the budget for a Luxury treat.
However as your question concerned both are reputable and serious companies.

have a good travells
