I do not "do" money belts. I do wear one around my waist with my valuables safely tucked inside the zippered compartment.

Being female I find the best place to safely stash money and credit cards is in my bra!

However there are no commercial products that are suitable for this so I had to make my own "secret pockets". These have a strap that clips around my bra strap with a secure jewellery clasp, and the pocket tucks under the bra strap and down the side of my breast.

I tried them out on a trip to Vietnam and they were brilliant, easy to access when wearing a tshirt, comfortable, and invisible. And anybody who tries to get something out of my bra risks severe personal injury .

I also made a passport-size secret pocket which clips through a belt-loop and is tucked into my pants. Similar to commercial products but smaller. Not as comfortable for me but it works. And this one can be used by guys as well.

My husband and I are "leg safe" converts. We find them very comfortable and more accessible (for us, of course).

I use a 'travel handbag', which I like so much, I have a 2nd one for everyday use at home.

After being pickpocketed in the Rome Metro, I knew I had to find something better than my purse. I bought and always use when overseas a travel vest from TravelSmith. It has numerous outside and inside pockets. Each of my important items has a designated pocket. I always feel safe since I don't think anyone will rip the vest off my body. I sometimes cover it with a big shirt and then it's not even visible. I keep small money and change in my front pants pocket. With the vest I can even keep my USD and whatever currency I am using in that country separate but on me at all times. I have used it on 5 or 6 trips now (including to Turkey, Egypt, Prague (where about 10 people in my travel group were victims) and will wear it on my trip to China in September. I will say it gets a trifle heavy sometimes, but my feeling of security is paramount.

I use a money belt that hangs from my neck when I travel; that way, I can put it under my clothes if I'm a particularly crowded place, or I can wear it across my shoulder (kind of like a messenger bag) when I'm in a more secure area.

We use the money belt..never had any problems..don't want any. I take across the shoulder purse with a bit of money, kleenex, lipstick etc..that's it. Never had a problem in Rome.

I do a traditional money belt that I pin to the waist band of my underwear. I keeps me from overspending and I think I'd feel someone trying to give me a wedgy.

I always wear a money belt...against the curve of my back where the bulge doesn't show. I use the two pocket type and put money and passports in plastic bags to prevent them from getting soggy when I am in hot places.

Hey div, that was short and sweet, hehe.
We have in the past used "pacsafe" bumbags, which can be a pain after a while.
