Suitcase Recommendations?

My wife and I are going away for a year and need to take four large suitcases with us. We want to get quality pieces, but not very expensively... any ideas? Websites, brands, price ranges?

thanks,
jake

Are you going to be moving around often during this year away? Or you are going somewhere to live in one place for a year?

Are we talking about one plane trip, then you stay in an apartment. Or you are going to be heading to the train station and moving around frequently?

TJ Maxx or Tuesday Morning often have decent luggage on sale. If you need to buy off the web, you'll incur shipping charges.

Travelpro is the favorite of flightcrews-you can beat it to death. The 21/22 inch suiter runs about $135.

I wouldn't buy luggage over the internet. I think you need to see it in person. I've had good luck at Marshall's, TJ Maxx, JC Pennys, and Macy's (when there's a sale).

Here's a second vote for Tuesday Morning.

Go to ebags.com and read the customer reviews on luggage. That will help you narrow down the brands and styles.
