Sub Zero G Luggage?
Is there anyone using Sub Zero G luggage either as carry-on or as checked baggage?
How does it hold up under the rough treatment of the baggage handlers? Do you recommend it? |
Hi, I bought two of the largest ones and one carry-on.
The carry-on is nice and I recommend it. As for the large suitcase. I have used it on 3 trips - one international, one domestic 4 hour flight, one domestic 1 hour flight. It now has a small 1/4 inch tear in the fabric in the back of the suitcase. So for me the jury is still out. They're very light. But I'm not sure how sturdy. I'll patch this and see how long it lasts. Also there is NO SIDE HANDLE - a real pain for the larger suitcases. Quit hard to hande sometimes. |
Lack of a handle where you need one is a real pain!!
I don't know this luggage but I've been using the same two inexpensive suitcases for a decade (either a 22 or 24" $50 ea. from TJ Maxx or Marshalls) with no rips after dozens of international trips, so that report above doesn't sound very good to me. |
If I were going to spend over a hundred dollars on a suitcase (22-24") I would wait until briggs and riley or some other manuf who offers a lifetime warranty had a really good sale. If your going to spend a lot- buy the best. If not, get a good deal at, as suze says, tjmaxx etc.
my suitcase was $40 10 years ago- other than a stain from a baggage handler it's in great shape - next time I buy black. |
