Macross - Feet don't bother me, but your post reminded me that I did see some pretty nasty ones when we lived in the Middle East.

Feet can get pretty gnarly when they never see the inside of a shoe.

I worked with a Saudi guy who insisted on propping his feet on his desk and clipping his toe nails. Lovely.

I don't wear flip-flops in hotel showers. I do get grossed out at airports when you have to take your shoes off, so I either wear shoes that need socks or I take a small pair to put on if I'm wearing sandals so that I don't have to go barefoot on that disgusting carpet.

Melnq8--We just got back from a vacation and there was a man that ran this garden. He did not wear shoes at all, so his feet were black. You would tell him what you wanted, and he would go out and harvest it. Everyone told me about the barefoot gardener, but I cant imagine trying to clean my feet every day with that much dirt on them, lol.

Between Pre Check and sometimes flying business I haven't had to remove my shoes for security is probably 5+ years. And I typically wear socks when I fly, But even sock-less it probably wouldn't bother me. I will walk barefoot out to get my mail, so 2 or 3 minutes in security wouldn't be any worse.

Janis, do you remember the Bird in Hand outside the Mildenhall gate? We had a really early flight and could not get a room on base and stayed there. I kept my flip flops on. They would not remodel because they keep thinking the base is going to shut down. The pub is still not bad but those rooms.
