Senior solo traveller to US for the first time
 

I'm planning a trip to USA in May and would like to us Amtrak from San Fransisco to New York and have some stop-overs in between. Any suggestions on where the best stops would be. Interested in Art of any kind.

Sheila, I only noticed this forum just now and it doesnt seem to me that many people on Fodors look into it. You might be better to post your question on the US forum.

Thought I would have another go on the solo traveler site!
Have bought a Amtrak 15 day National pass and intend to use some days travelling on the California Zephyr then Chigago to New York.
Plus from NY to Boston.
What would be my best stop of places Either going to Boston or returning to Washington? Any clues?

Even when folks do post in Solo Traveller, like in this thread, the questions are rarely about "solo" travel.
