Road trip playlist ideas
 

Hello Fodor! I'm looking to do a 2 week roadtrip around the USA, not sure where yet, but I think the one of the most important things to plan is the playlist! What are your favorite road tripping songs?

I do playlists tailored for the route. Blues and jazz for the southeast and Mississippi Delta, various country artists for Tennessee and the Appalachians, Eagles and Outlaws for the red rock country, Beach Boys for southern California, Dead and Airplane for northern California, Pearl Jam et al for the Pacific NW, Motown for the upper Midwest, Philly sound for the mid-Atlantic, Sinatra for Vegas, etc.

Too many to mention though my favorite genres are country and rock.

I say listen to what you like. That being said, I generally go with country music or classic rock. I occasionally throw in some celtic rock (I prefer that for the Pacific NW), the Piano Guys, and I've just heard this band Kaleo that I'm adding to the mix next time.
