Ricardo Beverly Hills N Motion 22" Expandable Rolling Upright

Hi,

Has anyone ever used the Ricardo Beverly Hills N Motion 22" Expandable Rolling Upright? It looked pretty durable and easy to maneuver at the store but alas it was empty.

thanks

From the photos, it looks like it might be succeptible to tipping over.

Also, it only lists the one measurement which is at the high end of the carry on range. Not all airlines will accept 22" as carry on. The 3" expansion could put it way over the carry on limit.

If you're planning on checking it, the measurements won't be as big of an issue depending on how you travel (trains, public transportation vs. rental cars, etc.).

It looks a little "floppy" to me. When I use a wheeled bag, I prefer a more traditional rectangle suitcase-shape without straps and stuff on the outside. Also at 8 lbs. it's not way heavy, but not exactly light-weight either.

I think it's too big to count on being able to use as a carry-on, if that's a priority. You'd always be pushing the limits. It's OK size for a checked piece certainly.

I have several Ricardo Beverly Hills bags, and even the 28" does not weigh over 50 pounds when full. The quality is outstanding and I've had no problems.

That particular bag has a lot of interesting features! I like the large outside pockets and interior organization.

Any bag will tip over if the outside pockets are stuffed.

Bring it home, stuff it with towels, sheets, etc. and see what happens.

I have this same bag, or rather a model very similar from their line several years ago. It's been all over the world with me on many, many trips and has proven to be very durable. It's quite stable, not tipsy at all.

I generally fly American Airlines for domestic travel and the bag fits in their overhead bins (B737, MD80) if not overstuffed and expanded. I usually fly British Air internationally (Seattle to London - B747) and have had no problems carrying it aboard. Same for BA flights between UK and Europe - carry-on OK to/from Naples, Rome, Prague, Nice, Paris, Madrid, Marrakesh, etc, etc.

From Jo'berg to Zimbabwe on BA I was allowed to carry it on (B737). Same for Jo'berg to Cape Town and return (B737 operated by Comair).

Last year I flew Turkish Air from Istanbul to Tehran and it was OK for carry-on then (Airbus 321). I flew BMI returning from Tehran to London (B767) and carried on also. In Iran I flew Iran Air (Fokker 100 - small jet) a number of times and was not allowed to carry-on with it.

So all in all, I'm very pleased with the bag. I'm often away for 3+ weeks at a time and am able to take everything I need without checking a bag.
