resort with wild life on ground
 

Hello,

I am looking for a tropical resort with wild life (birds, fish, butterflies, etc) on resort ground. I am not looking for eco-tourism, cabin in the jungle, etc. Something comfortable/luxurious near the ocean with various wildlife within resort's ground would be ideal.

There is a HUGE world out there and many places have wild life at their resorts. At least tell us what part of the world interests you!

Many thanks for all of your suggestions so far. Two of the resorts that we really like were (15+ years ago) on the Hawaii chain of islands. One of them is the Hilton Waikoloa Village. They both have fantasy (with/without Mr. Roarke and Tatoo no problem) like characteristics. The beach front resort’s ground was huge, green and beautiful landscape, arts were displayed all over, fishes in huge interconnected ponds spreading about, and of course lots of birds (some exotic to us) and occasional butterflies walk/fly about the winding walking paths on resort’s ground. There were the usual multiple huge swimming pools, private beach, even private lagoon. There were large open air (reception/reading) areas with one side facing the ocean, where one can really get lost in a book, accompanied by lapping surf, and sometime a rare lonely white sail in the far distance. The Atlantis Paradise Island in the Bahamas was another place that we stayed years ago, had many similar attributes. Not sure if these places are still the same these days.

For our rare occasion, we wish to find similar type of tropical resort (wherever it is, though tropical preferred), hopefully in a different culture (though not require) to travel in the summer. With 10 days to stay, if outside of the resort, there are interesting places but SAFE to visit would be perfect, again not a must. We really would like to avoid heavily zika infected areas. We get the idea that most if not all the possible destinations will be in hurricane season. But perhaps it is o.k, we will get trip insurance and cancel the trip if a storm is a near certainty at that time.

The problem with wanting lush landscapes with wild life is those are usually the areas that might have cases of zika. Much of the Caribbean is affected. There doesn't seem to be much talk about it this year though.

How about Langkawi, Malaysia?
