Need a Destination!

I have a major milestone birthday coming up shortly and I am looking for some ideas as to a great destination with which to reward myself. I've thought of New Zealand/Australia and Antarctica but was wondering if anyone out there had some fabulous destination I hadn't thought of. Would certainly appreciate some new ideas.

Those sound great. I'm doing Morocco for my next milestone birthday.

What are your interests? Are you adventurous and active? Prefer outdoors or museums and theatre? Big cities, small towns or rustic places?

You can get a lot of great ideas from the folks here if you give them some parameters with which to work!

Australia & New Zealand are terrific destinations, particularly around the Great Barrier Reef. And I'd agree with qwovadis that Ecuador & the Galapagos are terrific.

Is there anywhere else you have in mind? What type of vacation are you looking for? e.g. city getaway, time at the beach, outdoor adventures? We have some features on Australia and Sydney on our homepage right now: http://www.destination360.com/. Hopefully those can help you pick your dream destination.

Enjoy your birthday travel!

Australia would be fine. It's a great place there. But I would also like to suggest parts of Europe. Any part would do. There are lots of great countries in Europe that you'd probably would love to explore.

I agree with others - what are you looking for? If I were looking for something totally different but wanted to see lots of animals - Antarctica. for something completely exotic and outside of comfort zone - Tibet. For food/wine loving - someplace unusual in Italy, maybe Sicily, Malta, Palermo. For someplace safe and comfortable but beautiful and fascinating - New Zealand is great. For something strange and athletic - horseback riding along the coast of Chile (with a side trip to the Easter Islands).
