Name change: need to renew passport?

Hi -- if your name changes after you get married, do you need to have renewed your passport before going on the honeymoon (even if it won't be expiring any time soon)? Or can you get away with traveling on the passport with your maiden name if it still matches with your other IDs, etc? Thanks for your help!

Yes, the latter. Not a problem. Bring along a copy of your marriage certificate and make sure your tickets are in your maiden name. ((b))

Problems arise when things do not match - so tickets, passport, other IDs you are likely to need must match. People get into trouble when they book their tickets in married name but still have IDs and passport in birth name. So it is easiest for your honeymoon if you just act as if you never changed your name - and then deal with all the name changes when you return.

You don't have to renew your passport, but there is a form you send in along with your passport and marriage certificate, and they update it.
