My first time in Italy
Hi!! Me and My boyfriend are going to Italy, we get there at the end of April. We need an action plan in things to do, places to go and when... we dont want to be in a tour that drives us all over in a hurry, we want to enjoy and relax if we want too. We have 12 days to travel all over.
HELP!! |
You'll get more replies if you post this on the Europe board. You'll get better replies if you do some minimal research first - check the Destinations section on this website, go by your library or bookstore and spend some time with the guidebooks with glossy pictures so you can pick some places that look good. Then repost with some info about your likes and dislikes, and places you've been to before that you enjoyed - we're not mind readers, alas.
|
Yes I'd say likes and dislikes are the first thing so people can help you. Big cities, museums, nature???
|
Are you travelling by car, train, .....?
|
Sorry for the short info!! We like Musems. We are thinking in spending 5 days in Rome. And then use the other days to try to get to Napoles,Pompeya,Sorrento,Florence,Capri and then finish in Venence. We want to do Trains since we want to do a lot in a 2 weeks. Please advice if this is a good idea. This is NEW for us so we are willing to try everything Italy has to offer.

you should REALLY repost this thread on the Europe board where you will get much more help.

1. Repost on the Europe board
2. You don't have time for all that. Rome, Florence and Venice easily take a minimum 10 days alone. If you're energetic you could do the Naples Museum and Pompeii as a long day trip from Rome, but not with the Amalfi Coast. Pick Venice or the AC. 3. For train timetables see bahn.de. |
Italy is great, we just spent 10 days there this past October. However, 10 days is not enough to see EVERYTHING! We spent time in Rome, Florence, Venice and Bologna. We loved Florence and wish we would have spent more time there. Rome was great, however, it is huge and there is a ton to see. We were exhausted and after 4 days were ready to leave. Make lists of everything that is a MUST and do those 1st. If you have time see other things. We loved Florence and wish we would have scheduled more time there. The Michealangelo David is a must and the museum is nice. There are a lot of tips on where to get tickets cheaper and more quickly to the museums on the Europe board. I used the Fodor Italy book and this website to plan everything from the bus and train passes to what we would see and where we would stay. It was fun. Feel free to email me if you want more specifics about what we saw and did in our 10 days! Have fun!
